The difficulty with using this verse is this. The verse people use to justify this is Mark 16:17.ġ7 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons they will speak in new tongues (Mark 16:17 ESV) What you probably don't realize is, that they are more powerful than you and I can imagine. He does however have a legion of demons ready to pounce on you given the chance. Since Satan is not omnipresent, or omniscient, the chances you could even get his undivided attention is close to zero. As if you could be face to face and able to speak to him. ![]() Mark Galinsky There are those that will tell you that part of Spiritual Warfare should be directly rebuking Satan. I'm so glad deliverance is apart of His plan. God is a loving God, full of mercy and does not desire us to be in bondage to the devil in any way. I believe deliverance happens when the victim wants to be free, sets their will that they will not entertain or tolerate them anymore, and an interceder commands them to go to the foot of Jesus. To clarify I do not scream at people or demons. They were trying to use Paul's name, maybe indicating they did not understand salvation, which would make sense why the demons tortured them. We know that all authority is placed in his name. I believe that in Acts 19 those men failed to use the name of Jesus. ![]() ![]() Having personally cast out demons before, I can attest that it takes prayer and fasting for the belief to be operating. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
